Team Survivor Northwest - West Sound / Port Townsend members coordinate activities via a private Yahoo discussion group. Membership in the group is restricted to TSNW members who are personally known to the moderator, and all group messages are private.

General Information on the Yahoo Discussion Group follows...

All TSNW West Sound/Port Townsend members are also encouraged to please participate in our Yahoo discussion group -- we're using this to coordinate walks so we all know you are coming in case you run a few minutes late at the last minute, and so that we inspire each other to make the extra effort to get out, especially on days with marginal weather.

In order to keep the group local and private, membership is screened and the group is not listed in any directories. You either need an invitation to join (all current TSNW West Sound / Port Townsend members received invitations when the group was established), or you may request membership via a link on the group home page or the buttons on this one.

The discussion group is a free service of Yahoo (thank you Yahoo) so we have the advantage of their infrastructure - you have a number of options - you may receive any messages sent to the group with your regular email or you can read them only upon-demand, via the web. Yahoo also maintains a robust help section which gives information on how to get the most out of your group membership.

If anyone is interested in participating in this group but has privacy concerns, you have a couple options.

When you join, your email address remains anonymous (except to the group moderator (Diane)) if all you do is read messages.

You have more options if you use a Yahoo address - otherwise you can only send and receive messages and can't view message archives. If you set up a new Yahoo address to use with this group, please let Melanie or Diane know so we know to approve your membership. If you are having difficulty joining, we can send you an invitation, but you will still need to respond to an email to complete the sign up process.

Since, the purpose of this group is to coordinate participation, and it's a little disconcerting to send messages to an unknown audience, we do post a list of group member names (inside the private members-only area) however you can't count on that person receiving messages because if they're real busy, they may have chosen to let the messages sit until they have time to read them.

Team Survivor is a unique non profit organization providing physical activities and sports-centered adventures for women cancer survivors. Team Survivor Northwest is the club serving the greater Puget Sound region; the TSNW office may be reached at 206-732-8350 (or teamsurvivornw.org).

Team Survivor Northwest - Westsound / Port Townsend is a group which belongs to TSNW, with most (but not all) activities in east Jefferson County, WA. Please see the Walk pages for the current day/time of the weekly walk(s), as there is seasonal change, and also occasionally changes to accommodate the needs of the group.

New members are always welcome. Membership is open to woman survivors of any kind of cancer. The exercise classes are held every week, but it's a good idea to participation in the walks ahead of time. If you are a new TSNW member, please bring a completed copy of the participant package to your first walk (if you haven't already sent one to the office). TSNW membership is free, but all participant packages include a physician's release form which must be completed annually.
